JD Agro Cocora

Description

JD Agro Cocora was established in Romania in 2008 by Jantzen Development. The project was sold to 75 Danish shareholders in 2009.   JD Agro Cocora is an agriculture company, which have plant-production as the main activity. In 2011 we harvested 4.600 ha of cropping area. Mainly wheat, corn, barley and sunflower. For storage of our grains, we have 10 silos and one warehouse, with a total capacity of 40.000 tons. When we have empty storage capacity, we rent out to companies nearby. All our grains is sold to local traders, or traders with local offices. We only have one Danish manager employed in Romania. The rest of the organization is local.  To act responsible for our employees, we try to develop our middle-managers knowledge, by providing them with education at the farming-schools in Denmark. For us it is very important to try to lift the level of our local employees. We are trying to implement Danish know-how into the agriculture of Romania, because we see a lot of potential in this sector. Our politic is to be a responsible company, which follows the legal Romanian and European dispositions. We are located in one of the main areas for plant-production, Ialomita County, 80 km NorthEast from Bucharest.
