Espersen is quoted as reconfirming Denmark’s support for Romania’s accession to the Schengen Area. Baconschi mentioned in the context that Romania is already acting as a member state concerned about the consolidation of the Schengen Area and the security of European Union’s external borders. The two ministers also discussed boosting police cooperation, particularly in the field of the exchange of intelligence and expanding the bilateral actions to include the police academies.
