Eurostat: Romania, EU leader for the hourly cost for the work force in the non-business sector

The non-business sector is responsible for approximately 30% of the costs with the work force for the whole economy. This sector covers the domains: public administration, social security, education, health and other activities in the domain of services.

At the same time, Romania has second place in the EU for the total cost of the work force in Q2 ( 7.2%) a higher increase being recorded in Estonia (7.6%).
By comparison, in the European Union the hourly cost of the work force for the whole economy increased by 1.9% and in the euro zone it increased by 2.0%.

The hourly cost of work is represented by salaries, financial compensations and the non-salary expenditure of the employers.

According to the data presented by the INS the hourly cost of the work force increased by 4% in Q3 2012 against the previous quarter and by 7.58% against the same quarter of last year. In adjusted form ( after the working days number) the hourly cost of work force recorded a rate of increase of 3.70% against the previous quarter and 7.16% against the same quarter of the previous year.
