Mr. Karsten Vagn Nielsen, Ambassador of Denmark in Romania, accompanied by Mr. Razvan Stroe, the head of the commercial department of the Embassy visited Cluj Napoca on March 23, 2017. During the visit, the Embassy’s delegation met Mr. Emil Boc, Mayor of Cluj Napoca and Mr. Marius Mȋnzat, Vice-President of the County Council. The meetings provided the opportunity to learn more about the economic and investment potential of Cluj County. Ambassador Nielsen was interested, mainly, in the development strategy of the county on medium and long term, the investment potential, the county infrastructure, the possible partnerships in agriculture and the opportunities to support the business expansion of the city using Danish capital and expertise.
During the same day, the second DRBA annual business event was organized. On this occasion a number of companies with Danish capital from the Cluj-area and the Embassy discussed ways of cooperation as well as some of the challenges at local level that companies are facing. Based on Cluj Public Authorities statistics there are 56 operators with Danish capital in Cluj, which invested around 152,909,702.60 RON. Of this total, 25% operate in the production area, 26.79% work in trade, 44.64% in services and 3.57% are involved in the construction sector.
